Position summary

The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing solutions-based sales and marketing strategies that uncover new business opportunities and manage account growth individually and through subordinates within the Meier Sales and Marketing group. 

Essential Job Functions    

  • Subject matter expert in customer service, account management and sales techniques
  • Provides input to and implements a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability
  • Responsible for the definition, performance, and development of staff
  • Responsible for managing sales representative network
  • Prepares action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects
  • Works within the Cretex family of companies to maximize sales potential of the group
  • Initiates and coordinates and partakes in development of action plans to penetrate new markets
  • Develops and implements marketing plans
  • Assists sales team in preparation of proposals and presentations
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Build and maintain relationships with support functions within Company
  • Provides analysis of customer activities related to quotes, orders, sales forecasts, backlog, delivery performance and complaints/returns. Recommends improvements as appropriate
  • Performs market analyses to determine customer satisfaction, market size / trends, customer needs, technology trends and competitor environment
  • Recommends and implements systems / procedures to improve the effectiveness of the Sales and Customer Support functions
  • Directs and manages trade show participation, web sites, brochures, statement of capabilities, etc. to promote the image and success of the company in the marketplace
  • Leads, trains and participates in Operational Excellence programs resulting in improved productivity and profitability
  • Continuously self-educate to maintain a broad knowledge metal forming, medical and aerospace industries and products, and selling skills
  • Monitors the utilization of employee safety and OE programs
  • Partners with the other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
  • Understands customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Ensures business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
  • Participates in required company meetings
  • Maintains an organized work area (5S)
  • Participates in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Supports and complies with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Completes all other work duties as assigned

 Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA's and certifications)

  • 4 Year Degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in sales management
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to consistently achieve short and long term business results
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks when needed
  • Ability to follow through on commitments and holds team members accountable
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and ERP and other business related systems
