Position summary

Work in a precision tooling environment programming, setting up, and operating 3 axis mills, Jig Grinder, and Surface Grinding to manufacture components from CAD generated models.

Essential Job Functions                                                                

  • Develop CAM programs from CAD generated models and utilizing MasterCam software
  • Set up and operate multiple work centers to produce one off, high quality precise tooling components and other piece parts. Program, setup, and operate Toolroom equipment
  • Assist in team based department goals, have the ability to multitask multiple projects in a fast paced build environment
  • Generate & maintain accurate documentation of process & procedures related to successful manufacturing of precise tooling components and other piece parts
  • Troubleshoot and assist in process development
  • Initiate suggestions on improvements in the areas of quality, cost, delivery and safety
  • Reads and complies with work instructions, set up sheets, and checklists
  • Enters production information into the ERP system on a timely basis
  • Accurately records and reports hours worked
  • Maintains an organized work area (5S) to include workstations, equipment, walkways, and locker rooms
  • Participates in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Understands and complies with the Cretex professional competencies, company policies, and employee manual
  • Adheres to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
  • Supports and complies with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Completes all other work duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA's and certifications)

  • CAM programming experience required
  • 2 Year Technical College / Machine Tool or Trades Program
  • 5+ years of experience in "Class A" machine shop environment
  • Advanced CNC skill level, capable of programming, setup, and operation of 3 axis mills
  • Precision jig grinding preferred
  • Experience in Tool and Work Holding methods
  • Experience with speeds, feeds, chip loads, depth of cut, and etc.
  • Advanced ability to troubleshooting the machining process
  • Advanced ability to conceptualize complex geometry
  • Proficiently utilize CAD software
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Excellent communication skills via telephone, email, and in person to ensure successful communication via actively listening and asking detailed questions
  • Advanced skills related to all Toolroom equipment
  • Advanced skills related to precise open layout measurement technics
  • Advanced documentation skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent team work skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents
  • Mechanical Aptitude

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications

  • Fanuc control knowledge preferred
  • Precision surface grinding preferred
